The first word that strikes our minds when we say engineering is "engine" or "machine". Engineering simply is the designing, building and use of engines and machines. It is one of the highly sought-after professions these days due to huge demand, stable pay, and greater job opportunities. Engineering courses mainly revolve around the application of principles of science and mathematics. Having studied engineering, a person can be a scientist, inventor, designer, builder and so on.
An engineer is expected to solve real-life practical problems, having acquired the knowledge and skills for the same. His/her work is a bridge between commercial applications and scientific discoveries that meet the needs of society, further developing the environment for the better of mankind. Thus, engineering is one of the most important professions in society.
Students who possess a basic understanding of subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their higher secondary education can easily opt for an engineering degree by scoring well in the required entrance exams and meeting the requirements of the institutions. There are many types of engineering most commonly being civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering that are taught in Indian colleges. Many colleges are ranked and given recognition by the government, thereby providing them with degrees and certificates of higher value from others. Delhi is one of the prominent locations that house such institutions.
There are many aspects to check beforehand in the desired institution other than the quality of education. Many things go hand in hand during the duration of the course. Students need to thoroughly check them while seeking admission.

Admission Process for Top Engineering Colleges in Delhi Most of the institutions have the liberty to set the admission criteria which needs to be checked by students before their admission process. Despite this, the basic admission process remains the same.
The very first requirement is that the student must have acquired a minimum of 50-60% in their 10+2 in science stream from a recognized board. Most of the colleges and universities will require the students to qualify for the national and state-level entrance exams. The most opted engineering entrance exam for UG courses is JEE Main which is a national level exam-meaning students can apply to any college across the country. Scoring in JEE Main makes students eligible for most of the colleges in the country. However, qualifying scores in JEE Advanced are needed to get into IITs.
While seeking admission for a postgraduate engineering course, students must have an undergraduate engineering degree with a minimum required percentage without any backlogs.
Students also must score well in the common entrance exam for PG programs like GATE while some colleges offer direct admission, i.e. without entrance exam depending on some factors like percentage and undergraduate institution.
